Stupid. Oh, so very, very, VERY stupid. Yet at the core of this film are some tender performances by greats such as Olivia de Havilland, Fred MacMurray, and Henry Fonda, lending it a sense of pathos that is thoroughly undeserved but nevertheless present. Plus, I'm scared to death of bees, so that worked to the film's advantage. It's also hilarious. Extremely hilarious. Bees cause Chernobyl at one point. I love it.

The commercial success of the likes of The Towering Inferno and The Poseidon Adventure inspired a slew of increasingly absurd disaster movies and this is one of the most ridiculous. One of those films that's so bad it's funny.
