"Resident Evil: Extinction" by Yojimbo

Part three of the videogame inspired franchise reunites superbabe Milla Jovovich with a rag tag collection of survivors from the last film in a post-apocalyptic Earth decimated by the T-virus. It's the turn of Mad Max 2 and Day Of The Dead to "inspire" Paul Anderson who provides the expected combination of ass kicking heroines and zombie splattering gore. And also as expected, the effects are decent and the production design nice but the script was most definitely low on the list of priorities. The dialogue can best be described as minimal and characterization next to zero; it's a good job the set pieces are so efficiently directed because there's so little else to it. Once again the ending felt more like yet another excuse for a sequel rather than a genuine conclusion and the villain …

Stale

What happened to this installment? I really enjoyed the first and second one but this one was just pathetic. There wasn't enough action because the filmmakers tried to inject some sort of a (confusing) "background story" that was not effective in the first place. The regular zombies were uninspired and the "super zombies" reminded me of the ubervamps in the seventh season of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" (which are still, I think, stronger than the "super zombies" they had in this wreckage). If I were to find something good about this film, I would say the "bird zombies" (I guess they got tired of using the regular zombies) because they reminded me of Hitchcock's "The Birds." I did like watching Milla Jovovich because she looks good... but even she didn't summon any sort of emotion that …

Third one's the charm

Watching the third and hopefully not the last installment of this franchise was a bit satisfactory to me. Although the effects was not that bad, and the zombies were scary as they should be. Characters were not as fully developed as they should be. I even felt I have forgotten the roles of the returning actors. Gamers wouldn’t be disappointed in this film. There are few things to look forward to like lead actress Milla Jovovich naked again (personally I’m not going to get tired of that). Fight scenes in bullet time, few readers might not know what bullet time is. Seeing the Tyrant come to life, and become chop liver. And before I forget seeing Ali Larter, the Heroes femme fetal was something to look forward to. Overall three stars for me, I mean it wasn’t as good as everyone …

Curb the base instincts, and we have a labor force

Borrowing from the motifs of Romero's Living Dead series, (but perhaps not the spirit), director Russel Mulcahy explores the fringes of humanity in this third installment of the Resident Evil Franchise.

Milla Jovovich, like Keanu Reeves in The Matrix, provides the perfect visual focal point: she is not so much a character as she is an action. Something so much more than human, it is less than human. Something cinematic.

Which is not the same thing as dramatic. Her fate is as predestinated as the levels of a video game -- a particularly good one, full of nasty surprises -- but mostly linear.

Nevertheless, the film somehow manages to encapsulate the chilling economics of the digital mega-conglomerate. Alice, like the player in the video game, is too valuable to be …

Third installment of the Resident Evil collection.

I recently watched this film on the cinema it follows Alice Years after the Raccoon City disaster, Alice is on her own; now she has become a liability and could endanger those around her, she is struggling to survive and bring down the Umbrella Corporation led by the sinister Albert Wesker and head researcher Dr. Isaacs.

Whist traveling through the Nevada Desert and the ruins of Las Vegas, Carlos Olivera form resident 2, and new member L.J., and new survivors K-Mart, Claire Redfield, and Nurse Betty must fight to survive extinction against zombies, killer crows and the most terrifying creatures created from the result of the deadly T-Virus that has killed millions worldwide.

With a twist at the end of this movie worth watching.
