A dumb movie, but a genius performance by Nicolas Cage.

Just as fun and adventurous as the first.

Of course, the premise is ridiculous. However, the combination of a likable cast, envelope-pushing action scenes, and Ed Harris as a stony-faced villain make the movie adrenaline-fueled, fun entertainment.

More mindless entertainment that glosses over so much (is it really that easy to kidnap the president, break into Buckingham Palace, get into the oval office and solve mysteries with such precision and effortlessness?) How is it that the entrances to hidden treasures are so well hidden, but the exits are easy to spot? Final Grade: C+

I liked this better than the first - although the villain was weak. The story is again outrageous, but the cast looks like they're having a good time - both original and new. A step in the right direction, and I'm sure a third is coming.

to tell you the truth i seriously thought that this movie was going to be a huge let down from the first, but i was surprised when i actually liked it more. the story line just seems more original than the first movie if that is even possible.

Here, Turteltaub abides by the saying "If it ain't broke, don't fix it", and clearly looks for big money rather than a good movie. The film is scarily similar to the first, literally maintaining the same outline but changing the locations and having a new bad guy. For a film which goes so many places, it is really a boring experience.

Basically, this movie tries to be a mix of a Ben Stiller slap-stick with the slick fun adventure of an Indiana Jones flick, which is not a good thing. Cage does cause a few good laughs, mainly during his sarcastic rants, but they are all countered by his overly-sappy love-for-history dramatic scenes. All of this is completely without mention of the ludicrous story line that has more obvious holes then a shot-up Daffy Duck in an episode of Looney Tunes, and some downright bad acting from Greenwood, Kruger, oscar nominee Harris (who often plays great villains, but comes off incredibly soft here), and oscar winner Mirren. Worst movie with Three Oscar Winning Actors (Cage, Voight, Mirren) for the entire year.

I really liked this movie and thought it was just as good as the first National Treasure. I am a bit of a history nerd so these movies are awesome to me, even if they aren't all that accurate. This was just a fun action movie with a great cast. I hope I will be hearing about a number 3 soon.

I liked this one better than the original. It was an interesting, funny adventure movie without a whole lot of downsides. Much of it reminded me of Indiana Jones which is always a good thing. My only gripe with this movie is its PG rating.
