The film's beauty comes more from its setting that the story itself, but if you have about 3 to 4 hours to spare, it is worth the watch.

Perhaps one of the last, great epic biographies. An interest in the subject matter will help you get more out of the film. Parts do tend to drag, but overall, an excellent film with a superb story.

Fantastic bio-flick. Seek out the original cut if you can, the three and a half hour "Director's Cut" is a TV version he was contractually obligated to make and isn't very fond of.

Boring, long, not worth my time. Peter O'Toole is great, but who cares about the rest. If you have patience and interest in Chinese Culture, this is may be for you - but not for me.
