Generally unfunny caper comedy abut a collection of crooks attempting a casino heist. Tom Hanks does elevate the movie thanks to a very rare villainous turn as the criminal mastermind. Irma P. Hall has such a warm sweet screen presence, she's perfectly fine. It's a funny take on his nice guy persona. There are moments of brutal dark humor that fit the tone of a Coen brothers movie. But there is way too much flatulent and sex related humor that comes across as plain crass.

The cast of characters were great for this version of the movie. It was OK but it doesnt even come close to comparing to the original.I expected Tom Hanks character to be my favorite out of this film but I liked J.K. Simmons & Marlon Wayans characters much better.Irma P. Hall's character was the best out of them all.I don't understand why The Coen Brothers felt the need to do a remake

Not the best of the Coen Brother's comedies, but it's still slightly enjoyable. Each of the ensemble gets their moment in and the story is well told. Only for Coen Bros. fans.

A memorable soundtrack, a well-woven script, and garrulous dialog typical of any Coen Brothers production permit this little crime caper to be bestowed with the prestigious rank of 'the solid remake'.

Ladykillers is the type of movie, that would be better if it were a drama. This is definitely one of the Coen Brothers most disappointing movies. While it is well Directed, It's not well written or funny. Tom Hanks is a letdown and is actually annoying as Professor Dorr. Marlon Waynes is OK as his sidekick. Irma P. Hall however, is good as the noisy old lady, but she can't do better then J.K Simmons who steals the film as Garth Pancake. I'm a fan of dark humor, but this doesn't have that. A Waste of enormous talents in front of and behind the camera.

Funny enough, this is the Coen Bros.' worst film. Why did they remake this?

Decent caper following Tom Hanks and a band of criminals as they pose as the "professor" and his musicians under the nose of a sharp old lady. Some good laughs, but not what I would call my cup of tea.
