"Kids" is a hard movie to put my finger on. It left me with mixed feelings, emotions, and a slew of questions: (Is this exploitation? Is this art? Is it really as provocative as its reputation suggests?). Regardless, Larry Clark's raw and compelling images bring this one of kind coming-of-age tale of unsupervised youth to graphic life.

A film that presents a complete sense of realism. I felt empathy, anger and pity for these characters. This is eye opening, thought provoking material that must be seen.

Some people may think this film was grossly over-exaggerated, but having grown up in the "slums" myself, this is a very realistic portrayal of the teenagers who like to party. I've seen them interact this way, a lot of them talk that way, and although I have no knowledge of anyone with HIV, other STDS have come about for the area. :/. I thought the sex scenes were graphic for being underaged teens and kind of gross, but very well done for showing the lifestyle that some teenagers really do live.

gosh this film made me blush ... i never thought i was - but now i'm questioning whether i'm a prude ... subject matter was hard hitting - and felt genuine ... i liked the style - lots of in situ shots on the streets ... and the acting was solid

This movie points at a troubling issue with young people. And, this movie's exaggeration makes it clear.

This movie sits at a lofty number 2 on my worst movies list for a good reason. This movie was sold as "the truth about kids these days". Problem is I was the same age as the kids in this movie when it came out and it held no truth for me or anyone I know, and I didn't exactly grow up in a gated community. This is straight up exploitation without the entertainment value using primarily unknown actors to give it a "real" quality, written by a social parasite who would go on to make the thoroughly unwatchable Gummo, and directed by a middle aged man with no concept of the subject matter or any real vision. Kids is literal crap.

These inner-city kids never had a chance to make it. This shows that sometimes things get out of control and no matter what you do somethings will never change. A raw, well done depiction on everything that is wrong with our society.

Hard to watcher, harder still to forget, the scariest part about Kids is that this is probably happening somewhere right now. Raw and in-your-face - it's not a film to like, it's a film to experience.
