This movie wastes so many good actors and it doesn't even become a crime comedy until almost fifty minutes into a 90 minute movie. The first half is a slog where everyone feels sorry for themselves. Nothing like it was advertised. Jim Carrey is funny when he's allowed to be funny. Tea Leoni on paper is a good foil but she really doesn't do a whole lot. Just not that funny or even well written.

Dick Harper (Jim Carrey) has been promoted to VP of Communication with Globodyn. Unfortunately, the company is in debt and falters while his wife Jane (Tea Leoni) leaves her previous work. Too many ludicrous shenanigans outweigh the realistic aspects of the corporate greed. Scenes like the tied up guy, first attempt of Dick at crime and a few more make one cringe. The soundtrack was diverse and the aim was clear, the execution with the screenplay was weak. Still, Fun with Dick and Jane is a descent comedy despite a few pitfalls with the loony characters.

Carrey manages to keep things lively, but the film has spotty humor.

I think contextualizing this remake within the uncertain environment of today's economy makes the film relevant and easier to relate to. There are some great laughs and Jim Carrey mostly plays his character straight, without his usual annoying facial expressions and sounds.

Not the best of Jim Carrey`s movies but still worth a watch once in a while. The whole idea of the story is original and very funny, the acting is great and some parts are just so hilarious I nearly fell off my sofa. The fact that both main characters are left unemployed and are struggling to live a normal life made me really feel for them because I can imagine myself in that position. I don`t know if I would do the same as them, though. Crazy stuff. Overall about 2.5 stars as it is out of 4.

Energetic, sometimes very funny vehicle for Jim Carrey which is almost too clever for its own good; Richard Jenkins has the best moments as an alcoholic executive. Final Grade: B-

The opening corporate shake-up is great, but after that it never goes anywhere. I still think Jim Carrey is a great comedian, but this doesn't let him show up enough. Has good moments, but overall is forgettable.
