Hier setzt The Raid 2 ein.

"It's a matter of limitation. And the importance of knowing yours."

This reminded me of a combination of Oldboy (hammer usage and choreography), Bourne Ultimatum and violence of Reservoir Dogs/Kill Bill. It had that The Departed like plot and characters were just very interesting. It starts with Rama (Iko Uwais) being recruited by good cops to go undercover against Uco (Arifin Putra), son of a gangster. Rama agrees since Bejo (Alex Abbad) killed his brother. Hammer girl's entrance was suave, baseball bat man was freaky, Rama just authentic acting and kicked major ass. Violence was so realistic and fight scenes so innovative. even the shaky camera and cinematography from a far (even car chases) were just stunning. Have to agree with another fellow member that it had shades of …

This is a relentlessly brutal. bloody, but beautifully filmed tale of deception and betrayal that violently erupts across the Indonesian cityscape and within the confines of its criminal underworld in an orgy of breathlessly choreographed action scenes and astoundingly staged fight scenes. This year has been a good year for blockbusters so far but only The Raid 2: Berandel comes close to being a pure rush of adrenaline.
The plot is honestly nothing we've not seen before but my god the conviction of the performances, the …

Continuation of Awe-Inducing Bloody Beat Downs!

'The Raid 2' is a step above the first in terms of production, story, and action. The story is a longer and more complex endeavor this time. It wraps up where we last left off and throws the hero into a new situation that has him infiltrating a crime organization to weed out dirty cops. Though, that's only the setup, as we are introduced to a father/son power struggle within this mob family that has repercussions on the opposing mob faction and the many henchmen/evil associates caught in the middle. It soon becomes a one-man fight to stop a war from breaking out, with twists and character reveals aplenty. There are shades of crime movies like 'The Departed' and 'The Godfather', but none of it is as dramatically rich as those. It serves as a good reasoning for some amazing fights. …
