Gru still looks like the penguin from batman returns. This movie was better then the first one, I mean the Jokes are more funny and this movie is a lot of fun.

I didn't think it was as good as the first one. However, the introduction of new characters and new story-lines was excellent. The minions and the youngest child are just as adorable (if not more so) as in the first movie.

A sequel that plays to the main strengths of the first. Those strengths being the comedy and the 'minion' characters. There is more of both here and I see that as a good thing, because they are what I enjoyed in the original 'Despicable Me'. The fact that I was laughing almost consistently is the main reason I liked this animated treat. The story is as simple and passable as the first. It's all harmless kid friendly stuff again. A couple of new characters and a new identity for the minions are welcome funny bits. Nothing special, but a fun watch nonetheless.

Despicable Me 2 is pure family-friendly fun. It's an honorable sequel to the 2010 original, giving more screen time to the minions (who are absolutely hysterical) and providing a much more engaging plot as it tackles themes about relationships, which gives the movie the heart it needs. The voice acting is top-notch, the animation is lively and colorful, and the characters are likable as all hell. More than anything, the film is a blast that'll have you genuinely laughing until it hurts. 3/4
