A sleazy sounding story done with an impeccable amount of class, "Belle de Jour" cuts right to the heart of humans' sexual desire with precision and insight.

I respect this movie for what it was and think Catherine Deneuve is a charming actress. This was my first ever Buñuel film and I have to say that I might watch more.

Directed by the notoriously provocative Luis Buñuel, this prurient production has little in the way of story or sense, but much in the way of perspicacity and wit.

I had to let this film sit with me a while and to rewatch parts, because, honestly, it is pretty slow-moving, when you first see it. I think I liked the subtlety of Catherine Deneuve's vulnerable performance more than the film as a whole.

This was my first Bunuel film. Unfortunately, it did not press me to see more right away. I didn't think I would like his work based on this film. I wonder why it is considered such a classic. However, it is an interesting movie and I would recommend it for those who like the darker films.
