Pleasantly enjoyable, despite an extensive runtime, "Barry Lyndon" is by far the noblest of Stanley Kubrick's masterpieces.

The film is about a young man takes on a liberal approach to nobility when he gambles, duels, and fights his way to becoming a nobleman while winning the heart of a woman. Takes place during 18th Century Europe. This movie had a good cast and brilliant directing by Mr. Kubrick himself. The acting is fantastic and the sets and the look of the movie is really good.

This romantic period piece has scope and beauty in every frame. It's exquisite to look at! However, a very slow pace, super long runtime, and a story with no dramatic interest, makes for a boring watch.

Not many people rank this film among Kubrick's greatest, but it is masterfully directed and an intriguing portrait of a protagonist who is sometimes an anti-hero. Beautiful cinematography, among some of Kubrick's most interestingly-framed shots.

Calling this movie pointless is kinda stupid. It's long, but you enjoy every frame of it. One of the most beautiful movies ever made, that's for sure. Great, gripping story about a young man who wants to become someone. Even if it means being ruthless. Stunning.

Underrated masterpiece from the craftman Stanley. The wide shots reminded me to Kurosawa's Ran. Great acting, specialyl from Ryan O'Neal, because I think he's actually a bad actor, but when you're well directed then you can make things happend. A must see.

This is Kubrick's worst movie in my opinion. It is very long, kind of pointless, and meanders too much for me. I will give it a second viewing because Kubrick directed it, but I am not sure why he chose to make this one.
