The film is about a couple living in 1950s suburban Connecticut struggle to keep their relationship intact while rising above their mediocre lives. This movie has great acting by Leo and Kate and the cast was all good.

A few things make this movie a good piece. DiCaprio and Winslet are such a great couple with a lot of mutual chemistry. Kathy Bates is an icon, and Thomas Newman does his thing again. The problem is the lack of intensity. It has its momments, but overall I felt it flat. Sam Mendes didn't deliver as I'd had expected. Still good, though.

The acting was brilliant by everyone. But, nothing happened, which was probably the point, to show us how boring and monotonous are lives are. The "Keeping up with the Jones's" syndrome. However, I found it boring and unentertaining, which is what a movie is supposed to do, entertain, not matter the subject of the film. I think any sane viewer realizes how boring their own lives are and they don't need it pounded into their head.

The passion, the anger, the sadness, and the pain. This movie is absolutely emotional. Aspect for your emotions to really be touched in this film. Kate Winslet deserved the Best Actress Oscar for this movie. She takes acting to another level. Leonardo DiCaprio has a gift to really make you feel for each and every character he plays. This was one of the best movies of 2008.
