A kind of boring fifth installment of a diminishing franchise.

Most fans consider this the worst of the series and I would agree with them. Plain formula and a mess of new unlikable characters to be killed off. However, there are some interesting tidbits of backstory that kept me hanging on till the next sequel.

I'm afraid this keg is tapped out. Saw was interesting and I dare say the second might have been even better. The third and fourth were average rehashes. This fifth entry is just sad. The story is lame, the traps are uninspired as are the characters. Stick a fork in it, already.

Terrrible. This starts the downfall of the Saw franchise. Good going Hack-L. You def can not direct worth hell. Cause Saw V is horrible. Not even a horror movie.

Like most horror series, the first one is always the best. Well, it's no different here. But, I'll give it a 2.5 for effort. Also, the tracheotomy scene was pretty cool. Unbelieveable, yes. But, cool nevertheless. And I'm sure I'll get suckered into seeing number 6 as well.

It was not what i expected from the series. The fact that the "new" jigsaw was fine at the end of lets you know that there will be another, the good guys have to win uin the end. The ending needed something more. It was not as gruesome as the previous 4, kind of a let down actually. Here's hoping that the next one is more in line with the rest.

The fifth installment of the "Saw" series has a noticably different style than its predecessors. It is not as frantic. However, neither is it as intricate. For me, that is a good thing, as "Saw IV" had a little too much going on. But "IV" reels it in a little and, in fact, focuses more on the search for Jigsaw's inside accomplice than on the gruesome games and traps that are happening at the same time. Although a simpler movie, I felt like I was still missing something or that there were questions left unanswered. Oh, well; perhaps they'll be answered this time next year when "Saw VI" is released.

Action: 1.5/3 + Comedy: 0/2 + Good vs Evil: 0.5/1 + Love/Sex: 0.5/1 + Special Effects: 0.5/1 + Plot: 0/1 + Music: 0.5/1 = 3.5/10 or 35%. Nothing original and at some point they may as well re-release one of the past 4 and call it Saw VI. It is getting to that point. The traps this time around, to add insult to injury, aren't even remotely clever.
