Three Jewish brother escape from Poland as the Nazis invade. They join forces with the Russian resistance in an attempt to build a village to house themselves and others being pursued and persecuted. This movie is heartbreaking true story of three brothers that tried so hard to keep either a live.

Not a bad film by any means. It is a pretty typical Zwick film. Solid action, solid emotion, and a decent story. The problem is, that there was absolutely nothing special about this film other than it was a true story. Didn't make it good.

An average film at best. The accents are terrible and the action scenes are cliched. It's a very predictable film, nothing groundbreaking.

The script was bad, the fake accents were awful, the extras looked like extras and there was enough melodrama for three movies. It did have an interesting story and there were moments of pure cinema magic, but just for a moment. I was also expecting more from Zwick...

I liked this film and found it interesting enough. Zwick does know how to stage an action scene and I liked this film of his. Sure you did not actually see what the Nazi where doing and what this horror was outside of the forest that well but I don't think it needed to be shown because if you have any knowledge of history you know the horror outside of it. I liked to see what was going on in the camps and I liked the brother's interactions. The two main performances were great. I was interested in the story therefore I liked it.
