A great commentary on humanity. Centered around a trial and how personal needs and prejudices drive the opinions and behavior of the jurors, the message is bigger and can be applied to society as a whole. Great acting.

The movie starts out innocent enough, but Lee J. Cobb gives the performance of a life-time. I don't want to give any spoilers, but let's just say I was bawling by the end of the movie. Henry Fonda is pretty good in this, but I felt that it was a tad too liberal, that they were saying "Let's not convict this guy in case he's not guilty" which was pretty far-fetched. Overall, it gets you thinking. However, most jurors aren't going to care that much about saving someone's life, especially if they are probably a criminal. I haven't seen the remake. I am interested in it, but it is probably not as good.

What a fantastic film! When you realize where it will take place the whole thing, you start to worry. Well, you only need 5 minutes to see that actually you'll be watching a atmospheric, moody, dark and strong masterpiece. Lumet is one of my favorite american directors and here puts his abilities to direct a wonderful cast, that ultimately gives perfect performances each one of them. The script is simply wonderful. A "must see" flick.

A great drama about how one man can make a difference with standout performances all around - especially from Fonda. The personalities make the film - and they are captured perfectly in the claustrophobic setting. One you have to watch.

I admit I need to see this movie again, but when I saw it in high school I was amazed at the performances by Henry Fonda and the way they tell a story through one jury session. A masterful work of art by all! See it.
