Our Daily Free Stream: Walter Hill - The Warriors.

An actually fast-paced, entertaining, late 70's b-movie. Really there was nothing to complain about from this film as long as you weren't expecting the film to change the world. It's about a street-gang, The Warriors, who are framed by another rival gang, The Rogues, for killing the Cyrus, the leader of the largest gang in the city. They must fight to get back to their home turf, Coney Island. But, a hit has been put out on them and they must fight their way back.

The acting is about what you would expect, no Oscar winners here. But it's really well paced, only 90 minutes long. It's got a killer soundtrack, it reminded me of 2011's Drive, but not as campy. This music had some darker undertones. Not quite as neon-toned as the score for Drive, which was set in California, not …

When a charismatic leader is assassinated while trying to unite the warring gangs of a near future New York City, The Warriors are framed for his murder and they must fight their way across the city to reach the safety of their home turf.

This comic strip thriller from XY chromosome-pleasing action aficionado Walter Hill is far more about attitude than content. Looked at objectively it is largely plotless - the story is essentially just a long chase through the darkened city - there is literally zero attempt at visually representing the sci-fi aspect, and the dialogue and performances are rather amateurish. It has become something of a cult classic however thanks to the combination of an inventive soundtrack and the iconic costume design of the various gangs who all have their own …

The simple plot of the 1979 cult classic film The Warriors certainly points you in the wrong direction about the movie. When a man named Cyrus tries to join together over 100 different gangs in New York, he is shot and killed during his speech. Being blamed for this killing, Th Warriors fight to get home, as they are constantly distracted by attacks of local gangs, women and others. This plot is yet again, simple. So we watch a whole movie about 8 people getting home to Coney Island. Seems like a waste of time. This movie is awesome. This review is based off of the Directors Cut version of the film, not the original version, so some little things may be off to those who seen the original.

Since this movie is a classic, effects and action wise, dont expect huge explosions and tons of …
