It was still fun after viewing this again. Valentine "Val" McKee (Kevin Bacon) and Earl Basset (Fred Ward) notice a dead person at the top of an electrical tower. The person died of thirst with a gun in his hands. Rhonda LeBeck (Finn Carter) has seen the creature killed by Val and Earl. Rhonda based on the seismology tests that there are 3 more beasts. Walter Chang (Victor Wong) the store owner calls it “graboids.” The scene where the creature was about to get Rhonda was sensational to build suspense. “Pole vault” and Val being trapped scenes were clever as well. Soundtrack was sufficient was perfect for the film’s mood, effects were believable, skillful camera movements and acting were credible. A backwater town is stalked by giant underground creatures intent on gobbling up its inhabitants. Ron Underwood's affectionate homage to and parody of the Hollywood creature feature was a big enough hit to warrant a trio of straight to DVD sequels, mainly because of it's light-hearted approach and cast of hugely likeable characters. There's a lot of comedy in this feast of human flesh, particularly in the bickering of the two red neck heroes Val and Earl played with real chemistry by Kevin Bacon and Fred Ward and the survivalist couple who provide the absurdly over the top firepower they need ("What kind of fuse is that?" "Cannon fuse" "What the hell do you use that for??" "My cannon.") It wastes no time making excuses for the monsters' existence or soapy characterisation, instead …

A Great Blend of Sci-Fi + Comedy

Tremors is a great action flick with the perfect balance of action, science fiction and comedy. Kevin Bacon and Fred Ward star as two ‘handy-men’ in the small town of Perfection, Nevada. They eventually decide it’s about time they leave and get on with their lives but they’ve waited one day too long…
Kevin Bacon and Fred Ward have great chemistry together as Valentine and Earl. The cast as a whole is excellent and every character has a unique personality. Perhaps the most interesting is that of Burt Gummer who smells a conspiracy around every corner. He also has quite an arsenal of weapons in his fortress of a home. If it wasn’t for the excellent dialogue and cast chemistry this film wouldn’t have worked. Speaking of dialogue – there are some great quotable moments …
