The first three-quarters of the film was great. The last fourth, though, ended up completely flat. I couldn't tell which robots were the good guys, the bad guys, who's getting hurt, who's getting chopped into pieces, who's winning... The peak of the action scenes didn't work for me. I did enjoy the very human aspects of the film--which were concentrated in the first part of the movie. Shia LaBeouf came a long way from his character in the Disney show "Even Stevens." I think him and Justin Long are currently one of our brightest rising stars in Hollywood. After "Disturbia" and "Transformers," I'll definitely be on the lookout on what LaBeouf comes up with next.

People that just don't understand keep asking me why I love this movie and I will tell them simply this: It's the movie many guys (and some gals) my age have been waiting for most of our lives. When we were five years old we dreamed of this movie being a reality, we dreamed of seeing REAL LIVE Autobots beating the shit out of Decepticons onscreen. So when that screen went dark and I heard Peter Cullen's voice, I was 5 years old again and all my dreams had come true. It's that simple. Forget the forgettable love story or John Turturro's bizarre character and performance or any of that. It's giant robots beating the shit out of each other and who else could that but Michael Bay.

It's a movie about robots talking to kids. I really can't take that seriously, although I remember playing with transformers with my cousin when I was like four. This film could have been a lot worse, but... TEN TOP WORST MOVIES OF 2007 (see list)

Ok so I have to admit that the nostalgia factor had me waiting very impatiently for this to come out. Now I don't still collect the toys or anything, but when I heard about it, lets just say the 4-9 year old in me lit up. I was impressed. I figured they would screw it up, but the effects where so good they cancelled out the cheese. Shia is pretty funny and Megan Fox....lets just say that if I were around her, I would probably end up in trouble with the old lady. The robots were done very well. I'm curious to see the second one. (hopefully the strike doesn't last too long) I would like to see more robots but I understand that animation of that quality is very expensive and VERY time consuming. Bring on the sequel.

I really did not know what to expect when my husband suggested we watch this movie. I too, could think only of boys with their toys - and flashbacks of the cartoon. I was VERY pleasantly surprised. I actually will watch this movie a few more times with family -- it was THAT GOOD!! Not many movies have been watched by me more than once - but, this will DEFINITELY be one of them!! Special effects, plot, actors, everything is GREAT!! We were able to watch the bonus DVD - the making of the movie - it is amazing how much time and effort went into this film - and you can see it in the final production!! FOUR STARS FROM ME!

After my husband asked over and over again for me to watch this movie with him I finally gave in. The whole time I'm waiting for it to start I am thinking a movie about toys, boys my age played with when we were eight, I don't know?? However I was surpised from the moment this movie started I found myself enjoying every minute of it. I found it funny and it had some great action, although I thought the big battle at the end went on a bit long. I guess I can say it turned me into a Transformers fan.

I was very excited when I heard a transformers movie was coming out. Who wouldn't be in my generation? Transformers were a huge part of my childhood. This movie had a good mix of story, action, and comedy. The special effects were good, but it seemed to me the battle scenes were a little jumpy and too close. The only other thing I'd have to complain about was how they gave the boy the Allspark, which was the most important thing in the world, so he could run around with it. But, I suppose, that's just your typical movie story line. I give this movie a 3.5 out of 4 stars, and will look forward to a sequel.

Good summer action movie. Honestly the best movie I saw this summer, much better than the disappointing Spider-Man 3. I could have done without the cheesy section where Shia Lebouf goes back to his house and Optimus Prime and the others hide in the backyard, destroying all of the landscaping in the process, but the rest of the movie was pretty good throughout.

This movie is the summer blockbuster hit that requires no thought, just go with a group of friends and enjoy 2+ hours of pure entertainment of action and comedy (and for the guys...Megan Fox). This movie is even larger for those who were/are fans of the Transformers when they were kids (or again...now). It's a nostalgia movie for those of us who see this and think back to the Saturday morning cartoons and action figures and cheesy 80's music from the old animated movie. I felt like I was a young boy again when I watched this movie. I had tears of nostalgia forming in my eyes as Optimus Prime transformed to introduce himself and the other autobots.

I loved this movie. It reminds me why movies are on the big screen. Full of CGI, full action... full of cheese music and acting. Lovely. Of course that if you're an ultra snob that can't stand mainstream cinema, I would recommend you to avoid this one. You can't find the "meaning of life" trough it :0P The point is that Transformers has a lot of fun, and a lot of visual emotions. Watch it with friends if you can.
