Metropolis is much more than just a sci-fi film. Certainly, we are talking about the most astonishing project of a German genius named Fritz Lang, who definitely had the guts of experimenting with something different in order to create cinema. What Fritz Lang offered to the world in 1927 became one of the most ambitious and fascinating cinematographic projects in cinema history, not only because of its thematic elements, but because of its visual style. Basically, Metropolis created a whole new...

Silence is survival...

Itís not often a truly unique movie experience comes along. ĎA Quite Placeí is definitely one of those. Making his first big-screen debut, John Krasinski also served as co-script writer, and is the lead character in this film. Starring alongside his real-life wife, Emily Blunt, he delivers an earnest and engrossing story. At 90 minutes, this film immediately engages the audience in the narrative with only small bits of information on the actual backstory, and the story line remains highly focus...

Mortal Kombat may not be high art, but it's a fun Martial Arts Fantasy flick that is leagues above the likes of Street Fighter and Super Mario Bros.

The movie ultimately succeeds thanks to its entertaining fight scenes, well picked cast, stylish visuals (minus some dated CGI here and there), and overall faithful treatment of the video game it's based on.

In my opinion, it's the best movie adapted from a video game, and while that may not be saying a lot considering the poor track record o...

Marvel Studios has done an exemplary job in building a deep, robust roster of superheroes.
Tthe massive cast of Captain America: Civil War, which brought together such superheroes as Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Captain America (Chris Evans), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), the Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan), Falcon (Anthony Mackie), War Machine (Don Cheadle), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman), Vision (Paul Bettany), Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), Ant-Man (Paul Ru...

A grand crowning achievement.

The trilogy has been finished and it has all come to an end. The film is very unique but it has ended very well. The story starts off with Frodo and Sam almost finishing their journey to mount doom to destroy the one ring. In the end, the ring is finally destroyed and Sauron and his armies are wiped out and the king returns and the fellowship is reunited. The best thing about the return of the king is when the two hobbits finally destroy the ring and Sauron and his armies perish and his power i...

Black Panther is a masterpiece.

Such a fantastic film that hits the right mark on so many things, I've seen the film twice and i'm still digesting what I witnessed in the theater. The direction, story, cinematography, acting, action and pace we're damn near flawless. It also has stunning visuals, just a visual treat. It's emotional, action packed, heartfelt and quite touching at times. Cooglar did an amazing job at giving this film a heartbeat and molding and shaping it into his own vision. What you get out of that is a maste...

One of the better drag queen movies I've seen. I laughed several times and I genuinely cared about what happened to these characters. More importantly, it kept my attention throughout the entire film, which is a feat in and of itself.

Pitch it out

Good thing this is the last of the Pitches. The title should really be Rebel Wilson's Rumble. Good thing too because she can't sing, and all her character does is make sexual innuendo references that aren't remotely vague or funny. Let's face it, it's a cash cow to ride the shirt tails of Anna Kendrick. Sure the rest of the Bella's can sing, but so can a thousand other college age students. (if you don't believe me there's some great talent on Youtube)
Surprise guest star John Lithgowe as FatA...

Part II rocks

The Godfather Part II (1974) is a fantastic sequel and prequel to the original movie. Michael Corleone is the Godfather in this movie, but someone is trying to kill him. He also is given the option of investing in Cuba, but bad things are happening there. And the relationship between him and Kay Adams is getting on the rocks, and they separate (I enjoyed the separation because Michael was so mean and hotheaded to her).
Meanwhile, the prequel part shows you how Vito Corleone (now portrayed by R...
