interesting macabre musical

obviously if I'd read anything about this movie I'd have known about all the blood and gore, but I didn't so I was surprised. worth seeing for Johnny Depp's work and the familiar high quality Burton stylings. I also wasn't impressed with the score but thought the actors did their best in it. a minor point of enjoyment: seeing the woman who played the meat pie baker (Carter?) look exactly as she did in parts of Fight Club. Finally, I think the tradegy of it all could have played up more at the end--it had great tragic potential--this would have allowed the movie to illicit a more powerful response from the audience. I don't know if this really would have worked but I sure noticed the posibility.

I agree with you - though I enjoyed it slightly more than you did. Yes, the music was not as good as I expected. You need to see across the universe.
