I'd call it Nolan's most accessible and easiest to enjoy since his Batman movies and Exhibit B for why everyone should be going to theaters more regularly in 2026 ("Project Hail Mary" was my Exhibit A). He's taken a centuries-old story full of battles, monsters, magic, and more, and made it as exciting and mesmerizing as it should sound on page, while also identifying key themes that make this parable still relevant for modern civilization. The Odyssey, of course, is steeped in ancient history - Homer's epic following the Greek hero Odysseus as he does all he can to return home to his wife Penelope and son Telemachus following the long siege of Troy led by Agamemnon and his brother Menelaus. Odysseus is responsible for coming up with the plan to hide a select group inside a horse - presented as a …
