Phileas Fogg (David Niven) was probably the most precise man in England when it came to time. He was so precise, in fact, that he made a wager that he could travel around the world in a mere eighty days. Seeing that he had a generous profit to be made, he and his servant Passepartout (Cantinflas) set off on their adventure in the Best Picture winning film, "Around the World in Eighty Days."

It's hard to say exactly why this film won Best Picture. I believe it was because a film of this size had never been made in its time. It has a very epic feel to it, what with so many different places around the world visited. Aside from that, however, this film seems to be nothing but a fun but long watch.

I've always found the story in the film to be intriguing. Traveling the world would certainly be enjoyable if I had more than eighty days to do so. This is portrayed in the film well, I believe. The adventure of it is very thrilling, and while watching you feel like it might be fun to join Fogg on his journey.

There's not really much else to say about the film. It's just a fun movie that really isn't anything special these days, but would have been wonderful to see when it was first released.
