The rare monster movie that also succeeds as a riveting human drama. If not for the giant firebreathing dinosaur stomping around Tokyo, this would still be a great movie with just the people. The direction is commendable and the acting is excellent. The action scenes are gripping and at times even suspenseful. Although the CGI is not always polished because of the smaller budget, Godzilla is as menacing a presence in this movie as the shark from 'JAWS'.
