All About Eve

All About Eve has been acclaimed as one of the best Hollywood movies about showbiz, the stage, and the sly competition between celebrities. Sometimes emerging from their own fandom.
Bette Davis is good as always and Anne Baxter nails the phony sincerity as the ambitious social climber Eve Harrington. George Sanders has some choice lines as a critic aptly named DeWitt.
The film though does move at a slow pace and only towards the last half does it truly become engaging. It is something of a dry sit aside from the two leads and some retrospectively camp moments.
