The one liners fly as fast as the bullets and F bombs in Walter Hill's action comedy 48 Hours. For a buddy movie, the tone is surprisingly dark and gritty. If not for the light banter between Eddie Murphy and Nick Nolte, it could easily be mistaken for any standard gritty and dirty 80s cop movie. Special mention to James Remar for playing an especially nasty baddie.
