Sparrows (1926)

While dated by the limitations of silent cinema and hampered by some awkward transitions, Mary Pickford's most notable film role as the selfless leader of a runaway band of orphans makes Sparrows watchable. The eerie scenery of the isolated farm where she and other children are enslaved by an evil farmer remain creepy and foreboding. The action is surprisingly well edited for the climactic chase sequence.
