Wind Across the Everglades

WIND ACROSS THE EVERGLADES is a strange but stylish drama set in 1900s Florida which pits a stalwart conservationist (Plummer) against a burly poacher (Burl Ives) and his gang. It sounds like a cut-and-dry story of 'good versus evil' but the movie ends up far more complicated than that. The script displays more maturity in developing the two lead characters and makes them all the more interesting. I can't really say much about the supporting actors themselves behind the scenes but there are some colorful moments. Nicholas Ray's direction lends the film some rather good scenery of the Everglades.
