The Devil Inside

Finally a "documentary" worth watching!

When I started watching this movie I had no opinions in one way or another as I knew nothing about it. As I have written in previous reviews, I really don't like "homemade documentaries" like Paranormal activity etc. etc. as they tend to be dominated by terrible camerawork to make it get that homemade feel, and well they are quite frankly not scary. I've seen quite a few exorsism movies as well and most of them have been bad, apart from well you know, The exorsist.

For starters the camerawork in this movie was good. The actors were good as well, and the script was well written and it doesn't take long before you get into the story and I at least at some level cared what happened to the lead actor. That's allways a good sign. This movie wants you to belive it and it deliver in a credible packagde. The special effects are good and belivable.

As for the story it's simple. The movie start with the police documenting the scene were an exorsism took place that went horribly wrong. We fast forward 10 years. The daughter of the woman they tried to preform an exorcism on is now grown up and she have teamed up with a documentary film maker that travel to Italy and the Vatican To learn more about exorcism and to figure out what really happened 10 year ago.

I enjoyed watching this one alot, and I gave it 4 full stars because it was a good movie that in my mind is more of a horror movie than a thriller that this site has rated it. This movie plays on both the psychological lvl where you expect something to happen, and the visual lvl with belivable well made special effects.
