Yeah, Watchmen is very stylistic. And if Zack Snyder and Chris Nolan can't save the Superman franchise, I don't know what can.

District 9 Review comment

Is this a review? That's just info about the marketing.

So you finally watched The Shawshank Redemption. What did you think?

I still need to see Olympus has Fallen - something tells me it takes things more seriously than White House Down.

World War Z Review comment

I see why the movie annoyed some people. I thought it was the first real summer movie that I could appreciate. It wasn't trying to be anything it wasn't. Marc Forster isn'T a bad director, he just doesn't know how to film action.

If you think Mark Wahlberg has a stale face, watch Boogie Nights or The Lovely Bones. Plenty of emotion there.

Full Metal Jacket Review comment

Yeah, R. Lee Ermey really steals the show. 'Private Pyle, you're so ugly you could be a modern art masterpiece!'. I think the direction is better than the screenplay, because after you know what happens to Pyle and Hartman, the movie slows down WAAAAAY too much, almost stopping to a halt. But when they get to Vietnam, it's amazing.

Forrest Gump Review comment

I agree, great movie. I still think Back to the Future is Zemeckis' masterpiece. I don't want to piss you off, but I still think Se7en, The Shawshank Redemption and Pulp Fiction were superior films that year and either one of them should have one Best Picture. Well, tastes vary.

Anticipated movies of 2013 comment

This is the End was okay, Before Midnight was fantastic. What about Inside Llewyn Davis? The Coen Bros won the Grand Prix for it at Cannes.

Thanks for the comment, and you're also kind of right about the Artist being a big deal today and nothing in the 30s. By the way, I watched Room 237... I will never forgive you for what you made me sit through. It spoils stuff from other Kubrick movies! It spoils the ending of 2001: A Space Odyssey! For NO good reason!
So yeah, thanks for that.
Speaking of Kubrick, I've seen nearly all of his films now. The Shining is still the best, Lolita the worst.
