This did have some impressive wartime footage and a decent performance from John Wayne. But it’s pretty standard.

If you like old-time war movies, it doesn't get anymore old-time-war-movielike than this. But, it was a little too much for me. And, I have to say, after seeing a few other John Wayne movies, this one is a little bit disappointing to me.

A fairly standard war movie with the expected scenes and sequences, some original too though, and maybe it could have created one of the scenes I suppose. It does the standard scenes in a better than average ways and it has some nice interesting performances too. Not a great film by any standard but is good at what it does, and is what it wanted to be.
