Very likeable and funny deconstruction of the Robin Hood myth from the director who brought you a very likeable and funny deconstruction of The Three Musketeer, it obviously influenced the hugely inferior Robin Hood: Prince Of Thieves.

Sean Connery and Audrey Hepburn deliver unparalleled performances within the characters of Robin and Marian, with the focus as aged lovers trapped in the cross-hairs of legend, religion, and justice. Modern directors can't make action flicks like this anymore, and it supplies an overtly satisfying end to the legend. It's startling, sad, thrives in it's own vein, and should be remembered as the best Robin Hood film ever.
