I really wanted to like this movie, but I didn't. It was interesting to look at, but the writers were so busy winking and nodding over their supposedly clever dialogue that they forgot to tell a good, emotional story. At least none of the characters discovered the evils of tobacco, earning the film a SmokeScreeners rating of No Butts. http://tinyurl.com/cdcfbx

"Igor" was a pleasant surprise. I loved the star-studded cast (and who can resist Eddie Izzard? Who, I ask you...who?). I love black humor and when you put it into a kid's movie, I think its all the better. My niece loved it and so did I. We enjoyed watching the silliness and zaniness, and I enjoyed the amazing writing. Probably one of the best movies this year, no joke.

One of the many problems that this film has is its many references to “Frankenstein.” Since the filmmakers’ audiences are children, I …
