I haven't seen the original French movie The Intouchables. But this was a pleasant surprise. Kevin Hart is given a chance to play a fully fleshed out character with depth instead of spout one-liners.

A decent remake of the French film, the Intouchables. Bryan Cranston & Kevin Hart are excellent together. The rest of the cast (esp. the members of Lacasse's retinue) is largely wasted in this version of the film, particularly Nicole Kidman's character. As a result, the ending lacks all the feels it might have earned otherwise. Ultimately, the story-telling just feels rushed & more melodramatic in comparison to the original. Burger wanted to hold onto enough of the original while still making this film his own & rightly so. However, I was left feeling that the narrative needed a bit more finesse to make it a more compelling story.

Despite the characters' fine chemistry, I felt like Bryan Cranston through the movie. I could feel nothing.
