2015's "Macbeth," like so many other Shakepeare adaptations, is skillfully brought to the screen, but rather hard to grasp.

Between this and Kenneth Branagh's "Hamlet"; Macbeth is the most visually stunning adaption of Shakespeare in recent years. It perfectly captures the dark and grim atmosphere of the story. With it's chilling score and mesmerizing performances from Fassbender & Cotillard. While amazing to look at, but the film overall isn't really my favorite adaption of Macbeth. Not because it was slow or they changed key points of the story, as it's pretty close to accurate. I think trying to recommend it to right kind of audience is kinda tough to find these days. But still, this seriously got snubbed at the Academy Awards for best cinematography.

A brilliantly rendered, bloody and visually stunning cinematic adaption of Shakespeare's best play featuring stunning lead performances from Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard.

Although the visuals are nicely realised with some attractive production design and effective cinematography, the dialogue is exchanged earnestly with little in the way of visual cues to aid those not familiar with the rather obtuse prose; something that Kenneth Branagh's Henry V achieved rather well. As a result the whole film feels rather one note and hard going. In …
