A brutal and grim medieval drama. Not a great movie with issues in the story narrative, but I was entertained enough to stay with it.

It throws in every medieval cliche: witches, flagellates, torture devices, crucifixion, lots of stabbing and cutting - yet for all the blood and flowery language, it was a pretty tepid film. Unless you're in the mood for straight-up violence, best to avoid.
