The characters are so complex, but understandable. Although it's a likable movie, it's not totally enjoyable.

i dont know what to say. just one word. WTH! i cant remember another movie worse than this movie. omg its like you wasting your time if you watched this. this movie should get the oscar for the worst movie ever. first i bought it cause i see ben stiller who usually plays good movie. but i dont know and i dont have any idea why he play this movie . very dissapointed for a fan of him. :(

It's rare that I don't finish a movie that I start watching, but I made an exception here. Credit goes to Ben Stiller for stepping out of his comfort zone and changing his roles up a bit (though the role is just a reiteration of his angry persona). After about an hour I realized that I wasn't invested in the characters or story so I turned it off. This movie just couldn't grab and keep my attention.

Wenn du dich selbst nicht leiden kannst und deinen Weltschmerz auslebst, kostet es permanent Energie, sich versuchen zusammenzureissen. Du stösst die Menschen vor den Kopf, sie fühlen sich persönlich angegriffen. Irgendwann geben sie dich ganz auf. Wenn sie nur wüssten! Spätestens mit Greenberg ist mir klargeworden, was offensichtlich ist: Noah Baumbach gehört zu den Filmemachern, die einen zynischen Blick auf die Menschen werfen. Roger Greenberg ist ein Zyniker. Es war mir auch nie bewusst, welchen Typus der Komiker Ben Stiller am besten verkörpern könnte. Nun weiss ich es! Well, I had pretty high expectations for this movie. I heard a lot of hype surrounding Ben Stiller's surpisingly serious performance and around the film itself. I rented it and...well....the movie was really just ok. Stiller's absolutely fantastic in the title role. However, the character is completely unlikable and the film itself is awkward and kinda depressing. Heck, I had a big problem with the characters in the movie. I watched it and thought to myself "Why do they hang out let alone even put up with this guy?" They just came off as very dumb people.

I may sound a bit harsh but the movie isn't bad. Hopefully Stiller will get an oscar nomination for best actor which he certainly deserves and the supporting cast is pretty good. The dialogue feels real as do the characters(for as …
