Shep Strikes Again!

I am not much of a movie critic but this movie has been so overlooked for the wrong reasons that it reamains underrated for the obvious...Jean Shepherd! As far as I am concerned Jean Shepherd ranks with Samuel Clemens as one of the best storytellers of all time. Yes, I know Christmas story will always be best associated with Shep but he has so much material that never get air time, it's a sin. Phantom of the Open Hearth, The Great American Fourth of July and Other Disasters, Ollie Hopnoodle's Haven of Bliss, The Star-Crossed Romance of Josephine Cosnowski and that's not to mention his massive body of work in radio on WOR. So the bottom line is get this movie if just for the narration. Hopefully, whomever has Shep's work will one day realize the need to showcase the "other" work from a …
