21 Grams has been edited in a way that we're constantly jumping through time, but it never becomes confusing. It requires the viewer to assemble facts as time progress, which is what makes the film so great. The movie is packed with instances of innovative direction from Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu and features stellar performances from stars Sean Penn, Naomi Watts, and Benicio Del Toro.

A tragic story of three unconnected lives that are changed forever when a reformed ex-con accidentally kills a young family in an automobile accident. It's a beautifully crafted, thoughtful and intelligent character study featuring a truly outstanding performance by Benicio Del Toro. My main gripe was that it took a little too long to get to the point; particularly considering that I'd guessed the ending less than half way through the film. But on the whole a solid and moving drama that is yet more proof that Del Toro is the most consistently great actor working today.

Stories of 3 individuals intertwined involving a reformed convict Jack Jordan (Benicio del Toro), a stalker type stubborn professor named Paul Rivers (Sean Penn) and a widowed drug addict Cristina Peck (Naomi Watts). The style of directing was confusing at first, trying to much to be like Memento. The soundtrack and cinematography was alright. What makes this film special are the performances of the 3 main figures and screenplay. Wonderful lines from Paul - "There are so many things that have to happen for two people to meet." "How many lives do we live? How many times do we die? They say we all lose 21 grams... at the exact moment of our death." Jack - "God knows when a single hair moves on your head." Premise of 21 Grams was good and could have been better if told in a direct …
