Michael Haneke is either a director you appreciate or you don't. I checked this out based on Funny Games and while this is rough around the edges, it presents a view of alienation of a bored teen who watched violent videos as his parents patently ignore him. It goes to some dark places, none more than the parents reaction to their son's actions.

The boy in this film seemed unemotional about his actions alright, but I think that was due to being a poor actor. Unsettling and shocking, it might be a good film to watch if you like some of Haneke's other films.
