A Roger Ebert Tribute

By Daniel Corleone - 04/06/13 at 05:58 AM CT

Movie critics for film lovers are either consistent, irritating or a combination of both. Not all of them are right depending on your taste of flicks, but none was more popular and respected as Mr. Two Thumbs up: the great Roger Ebert. I tend to browse his site to read his opinions on certain films, both old and new. Some I agree with, others not so much. Regardless of how I feel, he was a fascinating fanatic in the field of motion pictures. I cab=n even remember enjoying his show with both Gene Siskel and Richard Roeper.

As a simple tribute for his many years of hard work, I have compiled his very best movie of each year, top 100 and even his 10 best based on my personal research. I agree with most, but some I have yet to see, which makes a nice list on its own and proves that Ebert deserves his place in movie history. I Hope this will be helpful to anyone looking to bolster their own movie list and serves a gesture of appreciation to one of the most iconic critics of all time.

*(Side note: of his top 10 I haven’t seen one, from his best of each year I haven’t seen 16, and more than 10 on his 100 best).

Awesome. He has so much good information. He kind of lost it the last 3 or 4 years, giving 4 stars to a lot of crappy movies. But, if you haven't heard the citizen kane commentary, it is simply the best ever.

I admit, I haven't seen many in his top 100 (mostly the foreign films - I know my own cinematic experience pales in comparison in that aspect) but it makes me more than happy to see The Big Lebowski in the #41 spot. Ebert - wherever you are - I hope they're still screening movies for you.
