A far cry from Gere and Robert's first team up in 'Pretty Woman'. Could a rom-com be more generic?

I find the premise of this film contrived, so I kind of didn't want to enjoy it, but the chemistry between the two leads won me over. It ends sweetly enough and, for that, I forgive it its coincidences.

At this point they were just trying to beat us to death with Julia Roberts...plot, substance, a point...all these and more were sacrificed...studio suits cared about one thing, and one thing only...shoving Gere & Roberts together again in the hope to cash in. No dice.
