An absolutely painful live-action cartoon complete with dodgy musical numbers. So completely off the mark it's almost surreal...

No live action Popeye film will ever be able to encompass the cartoon effectively, but at least this was over-the-top goofy and Williams does nail the odd quirks of the character. Other than that I didn't find anything else to like about this film. Directing and cinematography are awful.

One of the few instances where a cartoon shouldn't be turned into a live movie, much like Yogi Bear. Too bad Robin Williams efforts and talent have been wasted here. Nothing memorable, not really that funny at all and just forced.

A live-action Popeye is strange enough, throw in the music and it just gets weirder (and even a tad creepy). This is hard to classify, but it's certainly interesting if nothing else.
