This movie has some pretty good acting despite the silliness. If only the jokes landed more often than they did. When there is a good joke, it really works. But when it does not, it is uncomfortable and awkward. Liam Neeson is not a bad fit as the new Frank Drebin (or his son rather). Pamela Anderson is absolutely wonderful at her comic timing. I never would had guessed an extended joke about a live snowman would be the best part of the movie.

Typically I am not fond of reboots, or remakes especially when it comes to a solid IP that I have appreciated in the past. However I have to say that this not only holds up as a remake while paying tribute to the original series. While Liam Neeson is typically known as being an action or drama actor, so was Leslie Neilsen back in the day. Neeson has proven that while working with Seth MacFarlane he can has an incredible sense of humor and timing while playing it completely oblivious. This was a great take on The Naked Gun and I would definitely hold it in the same regard as the original.

Finally, a good spoof movie. Am I sensing a comeback for the genre? It's great to laugh again. The Naked Gun (2025) ranks among the best legacy sequels, as it captures the silly spirit of the original films.
