A ravishing tale of desire and betrayal, "The Handmaiden" is a gothic erotic drama backed with some absolutely beautiful cinematography.

I have been a fan of Chan-wook Park every since seeing the incredible Oldboy. He is adept at adding a lot of layers to his films and The Handmaiden is no exception. Told from two perspectives (the titular Handmaiden and the lady of the house she serves) the movie deftly weaves a tale of greed, jealousy, love and deception and it sizzles with erotic electricity - thanks mainly to the dynamic cast, especially leads Min-hee Kim and Tae-ri Kim. This one smolders with intensity - and if you're not a prude, I highly suggest checking it out.

THE HANDMAIDEN is a twisty and erotically charged period piece with a tantalizing love story, an intriguing mystery, and multi-dimensional characters to boot. They certainly don't make those in Hollywood anymore!
