As bloated, excessive, and overlong as it is, "Aquaman" is tons of flashy and campy fun that shows at least some promise for future DC installments.

I was really excited to watch this movie, but I was disappointed a little that it didn't exactly meet up to the hype. The marketing was great, but it failed to deliver what was promised. I feel there weren't as much action in it as I hoped it would be, and most importantly, this movie was inappropriately marketed to young audiences when I feel the movie is not appropriate and suitable for children. It's way too much swearing and suggestive material for younger viewers. There were crude jokes I felt was unnecessary and could have been left out. Story development was very weak and doesn't keep the viewer engaged and interested.

Gloriously over-the-top and corny, Aquaman breathes new life into the DC Cinematic Universe with its high-energy and beautifully shot action, gorgeous visuals, charismatic performances by Jason Momoa and Amber Heard, and a beating heart at the center of all the noise and CGI. James Wan directs the living hell out of Aquaman and manages to deliver the most exciting (and funniest and most ridiculous -- the sight of people riding sharks and giant sea horses had me in tears) DC film in quite some time.
