Ein zuckerbunter Fiebertraum, so sieht der bis dahin ungewöhnlichste Film des Jahres aus! Jawohl, ich meine Spring Breakers, den Film, in dem vormalige Disney Stars bei jeder Gelegenheit ihre Bikinis aufreissen, saufen, sniffen und Zungenspielchen veranstalten! Eine Woche Ausnahmezustand, danach gehts zurück ins trostlose Leben nach Kentucky. Harmony Korine, der ewige Polarisierer, filmt das durch die benebelte Perspektive eines 21jährigen, der sich im April aufmacht nach Florida. Hier geht nun eine Woche lang alles: Sich öffentlich nackt zeigen, anonyme Schnell-Ficks und sexuelle Demütigung. “We’re different people now.” A cross between Project X, Scarface and Trainspotting. Faith (Selena Gomez), Brit (Ashley Benson), Candy (Vanessa Hudgens), and Cotty (Rachel Korine) plan on going escaping town for a change. The group steals some money to go to spring break. Alien (James Franco), an arms/drug dealer, pays the bail of the girls after being arrested. One by one they go back home for certain reasons. The film had some lines to make it somewhat intellectual such as: "Act like you’re in a movie or something....don't be scared about anything" "It’s good to get a break from reality." "Live life to the fullest." And “I think that's the secret to life - being a good person.” The soundtrack plays a huge role in the pictures mood. Selena Gomez shows some depth …

Ok this is a prime example on why trailers are so misleading (Sometimes I think movie companies are in the same group as ...lawyers) I for one wanted to see how both Selena Gomez and Vanessa Hudgens would break their Disney ankle ball and chains in a 'R' rated film. I will admit that Gomez did a pretty good job when it comes down to making this film's audience feel her pain as she gets scared silly of what James Franco's character and his entourage might want from her and her spring breaking pals. That being said the movie fails in so many areas I don't have the time to jot them all down...
What I cannot believe is how many of you out there actually enjoyed this??? Franco was purely laughable as the grilled teeth wearing drug dealer named Alien (???) especially his piano version of …

Spring Breakers is a strangely fascinating and unbelievably entertaining film, with a brilliant look at modern society and how much it sucks. Writer/director Harmony Korine crafts this beautiful spectacle as both a high-energy thriller and a compelling social commentary, nailing both of those elements almost perfectly and presenting it on a color-coded plate full of pretty visuals and great characters. Those watching this film expecting a raunchy, outrageous boob-fest will either be very disappointed that it fails to deliver on those levels or very pleased to see that it's much deeper, much darker, and much smarter than that. I had those expectations, and I was very pleased with the results - happy to say that I loved this film and that it's my favorite film I've seen so far this year. …

Spring Break forever.

Spring Breakers will bomb at the box-office. Mainstream audiences and crowds of teens looking for mindless entertainment will hate it. But for film goes who truly appreciate film as art, visual storytelling over linear A-B-C plots, and especially Harmony Korine fans, will love this. This is probably Korine's greatest film since Gummo or Julien-Donkey Boy, and might be the best film he's ever made. The cast is great all around (which I was surprised by) but it's Franco who really takes the cake (or smashes your face into it.) He's goes all the way into a fearless, funny, scary, and unforgettable performance. Ultimately, Spring Breakers is a hypnotic visual feast with a lot more on its mind than boobs and bikinis, though there is certainly a lot of that as well. If you are a fan of …

Spring Breakers is A Lot Smarter the it Looks

This is probably the best movie I’ve seen so far in 2013 so far (as of 3/22/13.) not a perfect picture by any means, but I give it the 3.5 just because it feels like a movie someone went and made, not because they wanted to make money, but because they wanted to make a movie, and that’s worth celebrating.
The movie walks the line between parody and serious crime drama. It parodies the ideals of the recent generations, a young woman talks about spring break as if it is a life changing event while we see crowds of college students partaking in every sort of debauchery imaginable. It doesn’t make the party culture look glamorous or sexy; it just makes it look meaningless and even kind of disturbing at times.
