Epic mistake resulting in a paltry feel

Wedge known for epic films (Ice Age), made an epic mistake here. First of all, where is the plot? I could consider a plot base (Bud by queen, facing the moon light to grow the forest again.), but where is the development? Is this epic-ness ? Miniature effect : Wedge projects his world as small well known creatures. Microscopic creatures don’t strike any good here. Hell bad as the script. Emotional tone : It’s really very hard to accept the fact that, emotions in this film did not prove even good. Why does small creatures don’t have feelings? Wedge attempt is lukewarm. Visuals: Nothing, clap worthy, but neither bad. Quite fine. But again, not epic. Voice overs : Quite okay, not bold. Let me get it straight. What was the intention to film this? Haven’t we seen creatures before. …

Not Epic, but Not Bad Either

There is some truth to the saying "You can't judge a book by its cover," but at the same time, it doesn't always apply. In the case of Epic, I got exactly what I anticipated; a generic kids' fantasy film, with not an original bone its body. And yet (perhaps this is where that old saying comes into place), this is hardly a the trudge I thought it would be. Despite its many flaws, Epic is a fairly entertaining fantasy film. It's practically guaranteed to enthrall children, and will give their parents or babysitter a chance to nap, or perhaps watch and find themselves mildly engaged.
The premise of Epic is that there is a secret, hidden world, just outside, where flowers can walk and talk, bugs can likewise speak and thrive, and there are little tiny people that look just like us. A girl …

A Fun Family Adventure

When a movies title is literally Epic, It had better deliver on the promise that title implies.
Epic works fine as an animated action/adventure film (a horribly maligned genre in my opinion,) but it never becomes as epic as its title promises. It keeps hinting at scale, it keeps implying that we are going to see something awe striking, but the third act is a little bit of an anticlimax. It’s a tiny bit disappointing.
Other then that small complaint the movie works well. The story steals a bit from movies like Ferngully and Aladdin, but it still provides plenty of original material to compensate. The world of the little elf-like creatures is really creative. The details look really nice, and the creatures interesting (even if they’re a little confusing sometimes.) It all …

Epic (2013) PG M.K. (Amanda Seyfried) has moved to the country to live with her father, Professor Bomba (Jason Sudeikis), after the death of her mother. Her father believes that the woods are inhabited by some sort of little beings that move too fast for humans to see. To her utter amazement, M.K. discovers that her father is right. There is a race of tiny warriors who defend the forest, and she must join the fight, teaming up with Nod (Josh Hutcherson) a brash warrior who’s not used to working with others. I enjoyed this film, though it’s not quite up to the standards of the Pixar films. M.K. is a good heroine, one that young women can get inspiration from. I didn't like the 3-D aspect of the film and wanted to see the film in 2-D, as I felt the 3-D process washed out the …
