A treacherously seductive period drama.

Beautifully filmed and sometimes rather bawdy, Dangerous Liaisons features some solid performances from Glenn Close and Michele Pfeiffer as the polar opposite female leads. Pfeiffer plays virtue incarnate while Glenn Close is the sultry cynical femme fatale. John Malkovich is uneven as the supposedly dashing casanova Valmont but he's not entirely convincing. The film takes a dark turn halfway through once the various plots and affairs begin crossing their streams for the worse. It's different from your typical costume drama but still a little too downbeat.

Excellent movie. I love Glenn Close in this movie. It's kinda like cruel intentions but the old version. It's kind of like a soap opera. Beautiful costumes.

This is a fantastic story of deception, corruption and destruction. Set in 18th century France, Close and Malkovich are two French Aristocrats who live to destroy the lives of others, purely for the sport. There have been other movies made that follow this same plot line (for example, Cruel Intentions) but this film is done exceptionally well with some high-caliber acting (and some non-so-high-caliber acting -- Keanu Reeves). Quite disturbing and well worth a look.

This is pretty messed up. It was beautifully done and has an excellent cast.

"Lust. Seduction. Revenge. The Game As You've Never Seen It Played Before." One of my favourite costume movies. This is based on a novel. I love Glenn Close in this one because she plays a scheming widow.
