Hold your breath and count to the end.

When a movie leaves you in such a state of awe and astonishment as Gravity left me, you can't help but marvel at these extremely talented people who came together and made not only entertainment, but an immersive experience for a person.

I have been a follower of Alfonso Cuarón's films since the third Harry Potter, and I can now say wholeheartedly that this is the peak of his triumphant career.
Gravity was the most ecstatic, visually awe-inspiring film I've seen so far his year.

The direction is above all the strongest feature, without a doubt. The work that was put into creating such mind-blowing scenes of debris, shuttles, the hovering effect or simple emptiness was beautiful.
Shots would often go on for minutes without a single cut, wonderfully floating with our characters in …

'Gravity' is Out of This World Great

Unknown - wrote on 10/14/2013

'Gravity' is the first film I've seen this year to actually surpass the hype that preceded it's release. I was already jazzed about seeing it, but I had no idea I was in for something this spectacular. The 'WOW' factor reaches 11. These are seriously some of the best SFX ever put on film. It is perhaps the best 3D I've ever experienced. An IMAX viewing is a must. Okay, enough gloating about the visuals. How does the rest stack up? Every bit as enthralling. This entire movie is one intense 90 min. thrill ride. It's perfectly paced and supremely well acted. The emotional resonance adds urgency and danger to this already harrowing situation. I found myself constantly tensing up, clinging to my seat, and holding my breath. This would not be possible without the amazing directing …

Gravity Will Pull You in and Won't Let Go

Chris Kavan - wrote on 10/13/2013

Gravity is one of those rare films that needs to be seen in theaters. The visuals alone are worth it - and, for the first time since Avatar, I believe this is a film that also works best in 3D (I didn't see it in IMAX, but if you have the means it would be highly recommended). But visuals alone aren't the only thing the film has going for it - including a spectacular performance from Sandra Bullock, who gives the film an emotional punch to go along with the effects.

I admit, when I first saw the trailer for Gravity I wasn't exactly sure how director Alfonso Cuarón was going to make a full-length feature about an accident in space. But, I also knew Cuarón had impressed me with Children of Men so I thought if anyone could pull this off, it would be him. I shouldn't have had any doubts …

Visually stunning thrill ride

Norrin - wrote on 10/11/2013

While "Gravity" is a visually stunning experience and a very good movie, it is certainly not the life altering experience promised by all the gushing movie critics. Instead, it is like boarding an outer space simulator ride for 1.5 hours. You absolutely must see this movie at least in 3D. I saw it in IMAX 3D and it was some of the most immersive 3D I have ever seen. I would think the movie will lose a lot of impact in 2D, and even more impact if you wait and watch the movie at home. In other words, this is the kind of movie that screams to be seen on the biggest movie screen available. That said, the story is little more then a reason to string several admittedly stunning tension filled set pieces together. Technically, the movie is brilliant on all levels. As to the acting, I …

Review: Gravity

Gravity is a spellbinding cinematic experience. Director Alfonso Cuaron (Children of Men, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban) gets everything right - blending nerve-wracking suspense, gripping drama, edge-of-your-seat action scenes, and heavy emotion into a powerhouse motion picture that astounds not only substantially, but visually due to some of the best special effects I've ever seen and the incredible use of 3D. This is the most immersive 3D film I've seen since Avatar, and then some. If James Cameron raised the bar with 3D and visual effects in 2009, then Alfonso Cuaron shattered the freaking thing with his 2013 science-fiction near-masterpiece, Gravity.

Yep, it's that good.

The movie's plot is fairly straight-forward: Dr. Ryan Stone (Sandra Bullock) and astronaut Matt …

Gravity!

Jacob Zembower - wrote on 10/05/2013

Yet another astonishing directorial accomplishment from Alfonso Cuaron, who blew me away in 2006 with Children of Men, and now has completely overwhelmed me with Gravity. A film that transcends what cinema can be, taking it to a completely different level. This is an immersive, awe-inspiring, experience filled with heart pounding tension and moments of emotional catharsis in equal measure. Sandra Bullock gives an Oscar worthy performance, carrying the entire film on her back, never hitting a false note. Clooney is also strong in his role, but this is Bullock's film all the way. The cinematography by Emanuel Lubezki is nothing short of extraordinary and some of the best you'll see all year. The visual effects are flawless, sheer perfection, and a feast for the eyes. And the …

Unlike Anything I've Ever Seen or Ever Will

JLFM - wrote on 10/05/2013

Years from now, Gravity will be the film that countless directors will credit to being the movie that first opened their eyes to the world of cinema. You may have seen movies about space, and you may have seen movies about astronauts, but you have NOT seen a movie like this. Gravity is unlike any other movie I've ever seen, and unlike any movie I ever will see. Perhaps it is unwise to say so, but I'll say it anyway; stop reading this review this very second. Go see Gravity while it's still in theaters, and see it in 3D. The less you know about Gravity before you go in, the better. This is an experience, and I would not suggest risking it to be hampered by knowing too much about it.

The crew of the Explorer is finishing up on their space mission, preparing to go home. Our female …
