I agree with sapien that the ending was a bit too tidy of a way to wrap things up - but overall it was a pretty good film and Nicolas Cage actually impressed me for once. Was it mind blowing? No - but it was a good crime drama.

Nicolas Cage's comeback/proof that he is an amazing actor- great iguana motif and disturbing character. Also great character evolution/downfall.

Great performance by Nicolas Cage - it could very well be the top performance of his career. It could have been a really bad idea for Herzog to remake this movie, but in fact he knew what he was doing and it was probably better than the original version. Nice movie shot on location in NOLA. I'd see it again for kicks probably. Eva Mendes was just okay.

Really, the only part of this movie that I didn't like was the waaaaaay too happy ending. I mean, everything turned out ok in the end. And, it just didn't fit with the rest of the movie. But other than that, it's a good movie.
